Phil Schaffer had 7 rebounds & 4 assists and Ed Paone had 2
points & 4 rebounds in the Dixie Howell Memorial Boys Game. Aaron Spellman of St. Joseph was the
MVP.

NJSIAA SOUTH JERSEY GROUP 3 FINAL:
Boys Basketball (18-8) lost to Camden, 70-42
The Raiders turned the ball over 14 times in the 1st quarter and fell
behind, 25-9. Dave Beyel had 9 points and 12 rebounds.
Saturday, March 5th
NJSIAA SOUTH JERSEY GROUP 3 TOURNAMENTS:
Girls Basketball (21-6) lost to Woodrow Wilson, 78-43
Kaitlin DuRoss scored 15 points & Nancy White added 10 as OC
lost to the Tigers.
Boys Basketball (18-7) defeated Deptford, 50-41
Mike Davis scored 15 points off the bench and Phil Schaffer added
13 as the Raiders rallied in the second half for the win. Mike Hinsley had 10 rebounds & 4 steals. The win
moved OC into the South Jersey final.
Thursday, March 3rd
NJSIAA SOUTH JERSEY GROUP 3 TOURNAMENTS:
Girls Basketball (21-5) defeated Hammonton, 42-38
Kaitlin DuRoss scored 18 points as the Raiders advanced to the
South Jersey semifinals.
Boys Basketball (17-7) defeated Woodrow Wilson, 82-81 2OT
Phil Schaffer tossed in an offensive rebound at the buzzer as the
Raiders advanced to the semifinals. Dave Beyel had 28 points with Schaffer getting 19 points, 9 rebounds
& 7 assists.
Tuesday, March 1st
NJSIAA SOUTH JERSEY GROUP 3 TOURNAMENT:
Girls Basketball (20-5) defeated Moorestown, 47-37
Raiders win 8th straight and have 1st 20-win season in 15 years.
Kaitlin DuRoss scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Michelle McKinley added nine points & 6
boards.
Wrestling (5-15) in Region 8 Meet (Absegami)
Josh Hawn dropped a first period pin and was eliminated.
Saturday, February 26th
Wrestling (5-15) finished 8th in District 32 Meet (Absegami)
Josh Hawn took a 3rd at 119 and advanced to the Region 8
Tournament. Skooter Williams finished 4th at 140.
Tuesday, February 22nd
Girls Basketball (19-5) defeated Oakcrest, 61-38
Kristen Ceniccola led OCHS with 11 points, Kaitlin DuRoss & Julie
Treen each added 10. It was the 7th straight win for the Raiders.
Boys Basketball (16-7) defeated Oakcrest, 44-34
The Raiders finished in a tie for the division title with Mainland. Dave
Beyel paced the scoring with 20 points & Phil Schaffer added 14.
NJSIAA South Jersey Public B Final:
Girls Swimming (7-3) lost to Haddonfield, 87-83
Renee Tomlin & Sam King each won twice & swam on 2 winning
relay teams for the Raiders but it wasn't quite enough to win the South Jersey championship meet at Rowan.
Sunday, February 20th
Indoor Track at Coca-Cola Classic (New York City)
Brittany Sedberry won the two-mile run in 10 minutes, 37.02 seconds.
It was the fastest time in the country this season and was 15 seconds faster than the old meet record. In
addition, OC's 3200-meter relay team took fourth with Sedberry, Kaitlyn Minehan, Elizabeth Richardson &
Allie Moreland.
Friday, February 18th
Girls Basketball (18-5) defeated Our Lady of Mercy, 47-35
Kaitlin DuRoss scored 11 points & Danielle Brady had 10 and 13
rebounds in the Ventnor City Shootout.
NJSIAA South Jersey Public B:
Girls Swimming (7-2) defeated Moorestown, 93-77
Renee Tomlin won twice & swam on 2 winning relay teams as OCHS
advanced to the South Jersey finals against Haddonfield.
Thursday, February 17th
Girls Basketball (17-5) defeated Pleasantville, 38-30
Danielle Brady led the Raiders with 12 points.
Wednesday, February 16th
NJSIAA South Jersey Public B:
Girls Swimming (6-2) defeated West Deptford, 97-73
Renee Tomlin, Suzanne Mooney and Samantha King each won twice
as the Raiders advanced to the South Jersey semifinal.
Boys Basketball (15-7) defeated Millville, 48-28
Dave Beyel scored 15 points and Mike Wood 12. Phil Schaffer had
9 assists.
Wrestling (5-15) lost to Pinelands, 59-6
Skooter Williams forfeit win accounted for OC's points.
Sunday, February 13th
Girls Basketball (16-5) defeated Wildwood Catholic, 49-45
Kaitlin DuRoss led the Raiders with 15 points in the Shootout at the
Shore at Mainland.
Saturday, February 12th
Boys Basketball (14-7) lost to Shawnee, 66-49 (Vineland)
Dave Beyel scored 20 points and Phil Schaffer had 15 points, 11
rebounds & 4 assists in this Olympic-Cape Challenge Game. Shawnee was the only undefeated team in
South Jersey.
Wrestling (5-13) defeated Woodstown, 54-30
Wrestling (5-14) lost to Collingswood, 66-9
Josh Hawn won twice for the Raiders in the tri-match at Collingswood.
Thursday, February 10th
Boys Basketball (14-6) lost to Sacred Heart, 60-59
The Raiders played their 1st game without Mike Davis, who was
hospitalized with a foot infection. Dave Beyel scored 21 points, Phil Schaffer had 19 points & 6 assists.
Wrestling (4-13) lost to Buena, 73-6
Mike Tyrrell's pin accounted for OC's only points.
Wednesday, February 9th
Coed Swimming (6-0) in CAL Individual Meet (Atlantic City)
Renee Tomlin tied for 1st in the girls 50 freestyle & was 2nd in the
100 freestyle.
Tuesday, February 8th
Girls Basketball (15-5) defeated Lower Cape May, 53-33
Nancy White led OCHS with 10 points.
Boys Basketball (14-5) defeated Lower Cape May, 73-55
Mike Davis led four OCHS double-figure scorers with 16 points. Phil
Schaffer had 11 assists.
Monday, February 7th
Girls Basketball (14-5) defeated Winslow Township, 49-29
Danielle Brady had 10 points & 11 rebounds.
Saturday, February 5th
Boys Basketball (13-5) lost to Absegami, 84-53
Phil Schaffer led Ocean City with 18 points. Gami scored 50 points in
the 2nd half.
Wrestling (4-11) lost to Mainland, 36-30
Tramaine Legette, Skooter Williams & Mike Tyrrell each had pins
against the Mustangs in the morning at St. Augustine Prep.
Wrestling (4-12) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 43-24
Dan Boardman had a pin in the afternoon as OC lost to the Eagles
at EHT.
Friday, February 4th
Boys Basketball (13-4) lost to Mainland, 58-55
Dave Beyel scored 19 & Mike Davis 18 for the OC, which had its
6-game win streak ended. Phil Schaffer added 3 steals & 6 assists. Bill Care had 29 for Mainland.
Thursday, February 3rd
Girls Basketball (13-5) defeated Mainland, 52-42
Kaitlin DuRoss had 14 points & 10 rebounds for OC while Danielle
Brady went to the boards for 20.
Tuesday, February 1st
Girls Basketball (12-5) lost to Hammonton, 50-39
Kaitlin DuRoss scored 13 points for OC, which scored only two
points in the 2nd quarter.
Boys Basketball (13-3) defeated Hammonton, 57-46
Phil Schaffer scored 14, Dave Beyel 13 & Mike Davis 12 for the
Raiders, who were tied at halftime.
Girls Swimming (5-2) defeated Absegami, 127-58
Renee Tomlin and Samantha King won twice for the Raiders.
Boys Swimming (2-4) defeated Absegami, 106-64
Justin Southard, Justin Perry & Mike Corrigan were each double
winners.
