Girls Track (6-2) finished 10th in NJSIAA Group 3 Meet
Renee Tomlin finished 2nd in the 800 meters. She was the only
OCHS athlete to advance to the Meet of Champions.
Boys Track (3-5) finished 43rd in NJSIAA Group 3 Meet
Raiders failed to score a point in the state meet for the 1st time
since 1999.
Friday, June 2nd
Girls Track (6-2) finished 6th in South Jersey Group 3 Meet
Renee Tomlin won the 1600 meters at South Plainfield, her fourth
individual state track title, the most of any female in OCHS history.
Saturday, May 26th
Girls Track (6-2) finished 6th in South Jersey Group 3 Meet
Renee Tomlin added a South Jersey title in the 800 meters with Erin
Walsh finishing 3rd and Liz Canderan 5th. Kayla Ghanavati was 5th in the triple jump.
Boys Track (3-5) finished 4th in South Jersey Group 3 Meet
John Oberg & Steel Nugent finished 1-2 in the pole vault, the 2nd
straight South Jersey title by Oberg. In addition, Ryan Birchmeier was 2nd in the 400 and Matt Cowhey
2nd in the 3200.
Friday, May 26th
Girls Track (6-2) at South Jersey Group 3 Meet
Renee Tomlin won the South Jersey title in the 1600 meters and
Kayla Ghanavati was 6th in 100 at the first day of the meet at Buena.
Boys Track (3-5) at South Jersey Group 3 Meet
Brett Johnson was 5th in the 1600 meters & Perry Coker took a 5th
in the discus in the opening day of the meet at Buena.
Girls Lacrosse (12-8) defeated Middle Township, 14-6
Nikki Patrizzi scored 4 goals & Casey Beyel added 3.
NJSIAA GROUP 3 BASEBALL TOURNAMENT:
Baseball (11-9) lost to Delsea, 16-12
Graham Ginn & Mike Hinsley hit home runs for OC, which fell behind,
10-5, after 3 innings.
Thursday, May 25th
NJSIAA DIVISION A LACROSSE TOURNAMENT:
Girls Lacrosse (11-8) lost to Moorestown, 20-5
Casey Beyel scored twice for OC, which trailed, 13-1, at the half.
Wednesday, May 24th
Baseball (11-8) lost to Millville, 8-6
Josh Terrels had 3 hits for the Raiders who scored 4 times in the
7th.
Softball (2-19) lost to Middle Township, 9-2
Natalie Chamberlain had a pair of singles.
Two new head coaches approved
Mark Impagliazzo was approved as the new OCHS football coach,
replacing Gary Degenhardt, who retired. And Bill Pesda was named to succeed Tom Miller as girls
soccer coach. Miller was forced to resign for health reasons. Both Impagliazzo and Pesda were
assistant coaches. They are the first two new head coaches at OCHS in three years. A head coach is
still needed for softball, replacing Kim Gray, who resigned.
Tuesday, May 23rd
NJSIAA DIVISION A LACROSSE TOURNAMENT:
Girls Lacrosse (11-7) defeated Millville, 10-7
Nikki Patrizzi scored 5 goals & Casey Beyel added 3.
Baseball (11-7) defeated Absegami, 2-0
George Coccodrilli got 2 singles, Mike Hinsley doubled and Justin
Byrd got the win in relief.
Monday, May 22nd
Girls Lacrosse (10-7) defeated Mainland, 14-8
Nikki Patrizzi scored 5 goals & Casey Beyel added 3.
Boys Tennis (4-13) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 5-0
All 5 matches were decided in straight sets.
Softball (2-18) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 8-3
The Raiders managed four singles.
Friday, May 19th
Girls Lacrosse (9-7) defeated Lower Cape May, 14-5
Nikki Patrizzi scored 5 goals & Casey Beyel added 4.
Crew at Stotesbury Regatta in Philadelphia
The girls varsity 8 finished 3rd in its 37-boat heat and advanced to
the semi-finals.
Thursday, May 18th
Baseball (10-7) defeated Middle Township, 5-1
Graham Ginn struck out 10 & pitched a complete game 4-hitter.
Adam Lauer had a pair of singles.
Girls Lacrosse (8-7) defeated West Deptford, 19-9
Nikki Patrizzi & Casey Beyel each scored 6 times as the Raiders
clinched the Liberty Division title of the Olympic Conference.
Boys Tennis (4-13) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 5-0
All 5 matches were decided in straight sets.
Softball (2-17) lost to Middle Township, 9-2
The Raiders were no-hit by a pair of Middle pitchers.
Wednesday, May 17th
Golf (15-5) lost to Cumberland, 149-159
Rob Milburn & Trevor Hamlin each shot a three-over 38 at Holly Hills
with Matt Galownia adding a 40. Matt Serata shot a two-under 33 for the Colts, getting 4 birdies in the 9
holes.
Boys Tennis (4-12) lost to Absegami, 4-1
Tom Bellucci & Joe Petrini won in straight sets at second doubles.
Girls Track (6-2) in CAL Individual Meet
Kayla Ghanavati swept the two sprints & Renee Tomlin finished 1st
in both the 800 and 1600 meters in the meet at Atlantic City.
Boys Track (3-5) in CAL Individual Meet
John Oberg won the pole vault at 14 feet.

Golf (15-4) defeated Absegami, 158-174
Greg Galownia shot a two-over 37 at Greate Bay with Kevin McCarthy
& Trevor Hamlin adding 40s.
Monday, May 15th
Girls Track (6-2) defeated Millville, 89-51
Kayla Ghanavati won the 100 meters, 200 & triple jump in the final
dual meet of the season.
Boys Track (3-5) lost to Millville, 88-52
John Oberg cleared 14 feet to win the pole vault & the OCHS trio of
Ryan Birchmeier, Brett Johnson & Matt Cowhey swept the distance events.
Softball (2-16) defeated Sacred Heart, 3-2 (8 innings)
Julie Treen doubled home Natalie Chamberlain with the lead run in
the 2nd extra inning to end OC's 15-game losing streak. Both Treen & Chamberlain had 2 hits in the game.
Sunday, May 14th
Crew at Atlantic County Championships, Mays Landing
The boys varsity eight (Tom Frost, Ryan Huck, Josh Murphy,
Curtis Gaver, Sean Foyil, Tyler Huck, Kevin Thomas, Ryan Skellenger & coxswain John Tridente) won
the county championship. The boys junior eight also finished first.
Friday, May 12th
Boys Tennis (4-11) lost to Absegami, 5-0
All 5 matches were decided in straight sets.
Softball (1-16) lost to Millville, 10-0
OC was limited to 1 hit in its 15th straight loss.
Thursday, May 11th
Golf (14-4) at CAL Individuals
Trevor Hamlin shot a nine-over 79 at Atlantic City to finish 8th overall.
Justin Heckler was 15th with an 81.
Girls Track (5-2) won Cape May County championship
Kayla Ghanavati swept the two sprints, including a 12.2 in the 100
meters, breaking the 25-year old OCHS record set by Jodi Hickman. Kelsey Greene also doubled for the
Raiders, winning 400 hurdles & high jump. Ocean City has won the county meet all 27 times it has been
held.
Boys Track (3-4) won Cape May County championship
Matt Cowhey won the 1600 & 3200 meters at Middle Township with
Jason Dugan sweeping both hurdles. It was OC's 7th straight county title.
Wednesday, May 10th
Baseball (9-7) lost to Absegami, 4-1
Mike Hinsley & George Coccodrilli each doubled.
Girls Lacrosse (7-7) defeated Kingsway, 12-3
Nikki Patrizzi & Andrea LeFever each scored 4 times for the
Raiders.
Boys Tennis (4-10) defeated Millville, 4-1
OC won its second straight as Chris Roof, Colin Halliday & Lou
Bellucci swept the singles in straight sets and the second doubles team of Tom Bellucci & Joe Petrini won
a three-set match.
Softball (1-15) lost to Absegami, 15-0
OC was limited to 2 hits in its 14th straight loss.

Kevin McCarthy shot an even-par 36 at Avalon with Rob Milburn &
Elisa Mateer each getting a 40.
Boys Tennis (3-10) defeated Middle Township, 3-2
Chris Roof, Colin Halliday & Lou Bellucci swept the singles in straight
sets to lead the Raiders.
Monday, May 8th
Golf (13-4) defeated Millville, 177-193
Matt Galownia shot a six-over 41 at Greate Bay.

Kayla Ghanavati won the 100 meters, 200 & triple jump in both meets
to lead the OCHS sweep.

Mike Dugan homered for the Raiders & Brett Mensinger had a single
and double.
Girls Lacrosse (6-7) lost to Cherry Hill East, 8-5
Nikki Patrizzi scored 3 times for OCHS with Casey Beyel getting
the other 2.
Boys Track (2-4) lost to Vineland, 90-50
Boys Track (3-4) defeated Atlantic City, 71-69
Matt Cowhey won the 3200 meters in both meets & John Oberg
cleared 14 feet to win the pole vault.
Boys Tennis (2-10) lost to Hammonton, 4-1
Softball (1-14) lost to Millville, 6-1
Natalie Chamberlain hit a home run for OC's lone score. The loss was
the 13th straight, most by a Raider team in one season.
Saturday, May 6th
Baseball (9-5) lost to Hammonton, 16-1
OC's 9-game win streak came to a crashing end as the Devils
smacked 13 hits. Adam Lauer doubled for the Raiders.
Friday, May 5th
Golf (12-4) defeated Hammonton, 170-188
Kevin McCarthy shot a two-over 38 at Pinelands with Matt Galownia
getting a 43.
Girls Lacrosse (6-6) lost to Washington Township, 17-5
Colleen Netherby scored twice for OCHS.
Boys Tennis (2-9) defeated Oakcrest, 3-2
Chris Roof & Colin Halliday won straight-set victories at the top two
singles spots as did the second doubles team of Tom Bellucci & Joe Petrini.
Softball (1-13) lost to Hammonton, 10-0
Julie Treen had 2 singles & Jessica Thornton doubled but OCHS
dropped its 12th straight.

Golf (11-4) finished 27th in Carl Arena/Al Rifkin Tournament
Kevin McCarthy shot an 86 at Valleybrook, the best by a Raider.
Wednesday, May 3rd
Golf (11-4) defeated Oakcrest, 152-154
Kevin McCarthy shot a one-under 35 at Greate Bay with
Rob Milburn adding a 38 & Justin Heckler a 39.
Baseball (9-4) defeated Oakcrest, 10-3
The Raiders made it a school-record 9 straight wins as Mike Dugan
went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles. Josh Terrells also had 2 doubles with winning pitcher Graham Ginn getting a
double & a single.
Girls Lacrosse (6-5) lost to Camden Catholic, 14-10
Nikki Patrizzi scored 5 goals in a losing effort.
Boys Tennis (1-9) lost to Atlantic City, 5-0
All five matches were in straight sets.

single & a triple as the Raiders made it 8 straight.
Girls Lacrosse (6-4) defeated Clearview, 15-7
OCHS won its 5th straight as Nikki Patrizzi scored 6 goals & Casey
Beyel added 4.
