Monday, June 30th
John Richardson won The Flagship Award
Richardson was named the Male Athlete of the Year from the CAL, an honor also won by Chad Severs in 2001, during a live broadcast from The Flagship Resort in Atlantic City. Jen Cruz was among the finalists for the female award, shared by Shameka Speed of Bridgeton and Adrienne Rochetti of Sacred Heart. Both OCHS grads were joined by their coaches, Wayne Colman and Trish LeFever.

Saturday, June 14th
Boys Track (4-5) at Adidas National Scholastic Meet, Raleigh NC
John Richardson finished his high school career by setting a South Jersey record in the 800 meters while taking second in the nation, finishing 33/100ths of a second behind Derrick Hoye of Columbus, Ohio. Richardson's time was 1:50.67.

Friday, June 13th
Boys Track (4-5) at Adidas National Scholastic Meet, Raleigh NC
The 4x800 meter relay team finished 10th against the best in the nation, covering the 3200 meters in 7 minutes, 50.26 seconds - 15 seconds faster than the old school record. The team comprised Jim Dugan, Erik Geisinger, Brian McMahon and John Richardson. The race was won by Cardinal O'Hara of Philadelphia.

Thursday, June 5th
Boys Track (4-5) at NJSIAA Meet of Champions (South Plainfield)
Not only did John Richardson become the first OCHS athlete to win twice in the Meet of Champions, he also became the first male runner in state history to win both the 800 and 1600 meters in the MOC. Richardson broke the Cape-Atlantic League record in both events, running a 4:09.20 in the 1600 and 1:51.62 in the 800.
Girls Track (8-1) at NJSIAA Meet of Champions, 4:30pm (South Plainfield)
Freshman Brittany Sedberry, in her first visit to the Meet of Champions, finished a strong second in the 3200 meters.

Boys Track (4-5) at NJSIAA Meet of Champions - postponed
Girls Track (8-1) at NJSIAA Meet of Champions - postponed

Saturday, May 31st
Boys Track (4-5) finished 5th in NJSIAA Group 3 Meet (EHT)
John Richardson is also the state Group 3 champion in the 800 meters, breaking his own school record and the Group 3 state meet record. He is the first OCHS male athlete in 66 years (since Archie Harris in 1937) to win two events in the state meet. Jim Dugan finished fifth. Both have qualified for the Meet of Champions on Wednesday. They also qualified on the 4x400 meter relay team along with Jeff Forvour & Jason Welch with a 5th place.
Girls Track (8-1) finished 24th in NJSIAA Group 3 Meet (EHT)
Brittany Sedberry finished 3rd in the 3200 and set a new school record, bettering the mark set by Megan Hartman in 1994. She qualified for the Meet of Champions. The 4x400 meter relay team of Allie Moreland, Erin Walsh, Molly Minehan and Renee Tomlin finished 6th and also qualified for the Meet of Champions.

Friday, May 30th
Boys Track (4-5) at NJSIAA Group 3 Meet
John Richardson is the state Group 3 champion in the 1600 meters, winning by three seconds and breaking the record for all groups in the state meet. Jim Dugan and Erik Geisinger did not advance but they will also have another shot on Saturday.
Girls Track (8-1) at NJSIAA Group 3 Meet
Brittany Sedberry (1600), Allie Moreland (1600) and Renee Tomlin (400) all ran but did not qualify for the Meet of Champions. All three will compete again tomorrow.

Thursday, May 29th
Baseball (8-11) lost to Absegami, 10-4
The Raiders fell behind, 7-2, after three innings and were never able to catch up. Will Kleva had a double for OCHS.

Wednesday, May 28th
Baseball (8-10) defeated Atlantic City, 6-4
In a steady rain, OC scored five times in the sixth, sparked by Chugger LaCasse's two-run double. The Raiders won despite being limited to three hits. Relief pitcher Jake Pollock got the win.
Lacrosse (6-12) lost to Camden Catholic, 11-4
The Irish ended the OCHS record win streak. Gwen Hunter, Maggie Long, Stacie McKinley and Kelsey Nickles each scored once.

Tuesday, May 27th
Lacrosse (6-11) defeated Middle Township, 15-7
The Raiders set a new school record with their 4th straight win. Maggie Long and Kelsey Nickles each scored four goals and Rebecca Hasbrouck added two.
Softball (5-12) lost to Atlantic City, 7-4
Raiders let a 2-0 lead get away when ACHS scored twice in the fourth and five times in the sixth.
Baseball (7-10) at Absegami - postponed

Saturday, May 24th
Boys Track (4-5) finished 5th in SJ Group 3 Meet (Buena)
John Richardson won another South Jersey championship, this time in the 800 and again in meet record time. Jim Dugan was fourth. Erik Geisinger was fourth in the 3200 and Tom Tyrrell took fourth in the pole vault, also qualifying for next weekend's state meet. Dugan, Richardson, Jason Welch and Jeff Forvour also qualified for the state meet by finishing sixth in the 4x400 relay.
Girls Track (8-1) tied for 4th in SJ Group 3 Meet (Buena)
Brittany Sedberry ran away with the 3200 meters for her second South Jersey championship. Allie Moreland was second in the 800. Both will run those events next weekend in the state meet. Moreland, Erin Walsh, Molly Minehan and Renee Tomlin also qualified for the state meet by finishing fifth in the 4x400 meter relay.

Friday, May 23rd
Boys Track (4-5) at SJ Group 3 Meet (Buena)
John Richardson won the South Jersey championship in the 1600 meters by nearly 10 seconds. His 4:17.00 was a new meet record. Erik Geisinger was fourth in the 1600 and Jim Dugan took fourth in the 400 hurdles, both qualifying for next weekend's state meet.
Girls Track (8-1) at SJ Group 3 Meet (Buena)
Brittany Sedberry came from behind to win the 1600 meters and Allie Moreland was second. Also advancing to the state meet was Renee Tomlin with a fifth in the 400 meters.
Softball (5-11) at Atlantic City - postponed

Thursday, May 22nd
Lacrosse (5-11) defeated Winslow Township, 13-6
Maggie Long netted four goals, Kelsey Nickles had three and Rebecca Hasbrouck added two. The win was the 3rd straight, tying a school record.
Boys Tennis (8-12) lost to Atlantic City, 3-2
The OC wins came in doubles - Jim Dugan & Matt Piechoski won a three-set match at first doubles and Chris Vivarelli & Chris Mullan won in straight sets at second doubles.
Baseball (7-10) vs Atlantic City - postponed

Wednesday, May 21st
Softball (5-11) defeated Mainland, 5-4
The Raiders scored three times in the fourth and held on despite being outhit, 15-4, and committing five errors. Nikki Hinsley had half of the OCHS hits, including a key double in the crucial fourth inning. Megan Cassidy scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Third win in last four games for Raiders.
Lacrosse (4-11) defeated Paul VI, 14-5
Maggie Long scored four times with Kelsey Nickles and Justine Gaver each getting two goals.
Boys Tennis (8-11) lost to Mainland, 4-1
The first doubles team of Jim Dugan and Matt Piechoski reunited and notched OC's only win in straight sets.
Golf (14-7) vs Bishop Eustace - cancelled
Baseball (7-10) vs Sacred Heart - cancelled

Tuesday, May 20th
Softball (4-11) defeated Lower Cape May, 7-6
The Raiders scored three times in the sixth to notch the come-from-behind win. Julie Treen's single chased home Nikki Hinsley with the lead run. Kim Treen had two doubles and a single, driving home three runs. Megan Hubbard got the win.
Golf (13-6) lost to Mainland, 158-176
Golf (13-7) lost to Atlantic City, 174-176
Golf (14-7) defeated Hammonton, 176-179
Billy Gray shot a 42 at Greate Bay as the Raiders won one of three matches.
Baseball (7-10) lost to Mainland, 7-4
Chugger LaCasse blasted a three-run homer in the sixth but OC could not come all the way back from the 6-1 deficit after four innings.

Monday, May 19th
Lacrosse (3-11) defeated Lower Cape May, 16-8
Maggie Long scored 5 goals & Kelsey Nickles added 3.
Girls Track (7-1) defeated Vineland, 77-44
Brittany Sedberry won the 1600 & 3200 and Melissa Hunter won the 200 & long jump.
Softball (3-11) lost to Absegami, 13-4
Gami scored six times in first two innings. Raiders committed eight errors.
Boys Tennis (8-10) lost to Absegami, 3-2
Jason Udani won at No. 2 singles and the Jim Dugan-Dan Murphy team at first doubles. Chris Vivarelli lost a three-set match at No. 3 singles.
Boys Track (4-5) lost to Millville, 73-58
John Richardson won the 400 & 800 meters in Wayne Colman's final dual meet after 27 years as head boys track coach. He missed the school record in the 400 by one-tenth of a second.

Thursday, May 15th
Boys Track (4-4) at CAL Meet
John Richardson set a new school record by winning the 800 meters in 1:52.30, improving his own mark. Jim Dugan was second in the race, edging out Vineland's Shannon Sherrer, the defending Group 4 state champion. Erik Geisinger ran away from the field to win the 3200 meters in under 10 minutes.
Girls Track (6-1) at CAL Meet
Brittany Sedberry (3200), Brittany Downham (1600) and Allie Moreland (800) were all winners.
Baseball (7-9) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 3-2 (8 innings)
Will Kleva doubled home two runs in the sixth to send the game into extra innings. The Raiders only had three hits, including another double by Chugger LaCasse.
Boys Tennis (8-9) lost to Absegami, 3-2
No. 2 singles player Vic Nappen and the doubles team of Dan Murphy & Chris Mullan were winners. Kelly Miller lost a tough, three-set match at No. 3 singles.

Wednesday, May 14th
Golf (13-5) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 166-174
Billy Gray shot a 39 and J.P. Laird a 41 at Greate Bay.
Softball (3-10) defeated Middle Township, 5-0
Megan Hubbard pitched a four-hit shutout. The Treen sisters sparked the OCHS offense, which was limited to three hits - senior Kim had a double and scored, freshman Julie had a single, RBI and run scored.
Lacrosse (2-11) lost to Collingswood, 18-5
Maggie Long scored 4 goals.
Boys Tennis (8-8) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 3-2
Kelly Miller won at No. 3 singles, as did the second doubles team of Dan Murphy & Chris Mullan.

Tuesday, May 13th
Boys Tennis (8-7) defeated Millville, 3-2
Erick Chalfin won at No. 1 singles on the third set tie-breaker. Two other matches also went three sets.
Golf (12-5) finished 8th in South Jersey Group 3 Meet
J.P. Laird shot an 82 and Billy Gray an 86 in the NJSIAA sectional tournament at Sand Barrens as the Raiders failed to qualify for the state tournament. Only the top two teams advanced - Moorestown and Ridge. Defending state champion Mainland finished third.
Baseball (7-8) lost to Winslow Township, 17-16
The Raiders scored six runs in the second and eight in the sixth - and it wasn't enough. Dan McLaughlin hit two home runs, Wes Yakopcic and Mike Baker one each. Chugger LaCasse stroked four singles, Baker added a double and single and Will Kleva blasted a triple. OC out-hit Winslow, 18-15.
Softball (2-10) lost to Millville, 8-3
Nikki Hinsley had a double for the Raiders who fell behind, 6-0. They committed seven errors.

Monday, May 12th
Baseball (7-7) defeated Oakcrest, 11-8
Chugger LaCasse had three singles, Will Kleva had a triple and single and Wes Yakopicic had two singles as OC scored 10 times in the first three innings. Andrew Bednarek got the win, improving to 3-0.
Boys Tennis (7-7) defeated Oakcrest, 5-0
Erick Chalfin and Kelly Miller were straight-set winners at singles.
Girls Track (6-1) defeated Oakcrest, 71-51
Brittany Sedberry, Melissa Hunter and Leslie Robinson all won twice. The loss was the first for Oakcrest, leaving undefeated Mainland alone in first place.
Golf (12-5) lost to Oakcrest, 175-178
J.P. Laird shot a 42 at Greate Bay.
Lacrosse (2-10) lost to Pennsauken, 13-8
Maggie Long scored six times.
Softball (2-9) lost to Oakcrest, 3-2
The Falcons scored with a sacrifice fly in the eight for the win.
Boys Track (4-4) lost to Oakcrest, 70-61
John Richardson won the 800 and 1600 and anchored the win in the 4x400 relay. It was the final meet at Carey Stadium for Coach Wayne Colman, who will retire after 27 seasons.

Friday, May 9th
Golf (12-4) vs Mainland - postponed
Lacrosse (2-9) vs Camden Catholic - postponed
Softball (2-8) vs Mainland - postponed
Boys Tennis (6-7) vs Mainland - postponed
Baseball (6-7) at Mainland - postponed
The Raiders did not get a chance to qualify for the NJSIAA Baseball Tournament. Today was the deadline to be at .500 or better.

Thursday, May 8th
Boys Track (4-3) finished 1st at County Meet
John Richardson won twice, including a record-setting run in the 3200 meters. He broke the meet record by 20 seconds and his own school record by more than four. Jim Dugan won the 400 hurdles and 800 meters. It was OC's fourth straight championship and 24th in 32 years. Other county champions included Blake Boffa (400), Dan Stephenson (discus) and Tom Tyrrell (pole vault).
Girls Track (5-1) finished 1st at County Meet
Freshmen Brittany Sedberry and Melissa Hunter both won twice as the girls won the county title for the 24th time in its 24-meet history. Sedberry finished first in both the 1600 & 3200 meters, Hunter winning the 100 & 200. Junior Leslie Robinson also won twice, taking the shot put & discus. Other champions included Renee Tomlin (400), Allie Moreland (800) and Kelly Heckler (400 hurdles).
Golf (12-4) in CAL Individual Tournament
Stephen Freda shot a 79 at the Atlantic City Country Club to finish 7th among the Cape-Atlantic League's best players. J.P. Laird (80) was 12th and Billy Gray (82) finished 16th. The CAL champion was St. Augustine Prep's Joe April with a 71. April will join OCHS graduate Jeff Michner at Drexel next fall.
Baseball (6-7) lost to Hammonton, 5-2
Raiders let a 2-1 lead get away when Hammonton scored four times in the sixth inning. OC, which had just two hits, must now beat the No. 1 ranked team in the state - rival Mainland - tomorrow to qualify for the NJSIAA Tournament.
Softball (2-8) lost to Hammonton, 7-0
The Raiders were shut out on two hits by sophomore Jen Haas.

Wednesday, May 7th
Boys Tennis (6-7) defeated Hammonton, 4-1
Vic Nappen won at No. 1 singles in re-vamped OCHS lineup.
Golf (12-4) vs Atlantic City & Hammonton - postponed

Tuesday, May 6th
Baseball (6-6) defeated Lower Cape May, 5-2
Kevin Kilroy allowed just one hit in four innings to get the win, OC's fourth straight. Will Kleva smacked a two-run home run.
Lacrosse (2-9) defeated Paul VI, 17-5
Maggie Long scored six times for OC. Kelsey Nickles, Gwen Hunter and Sarah Hayes each scored three times.
Softball (2-7) defeated Lower Cape May, 11-1
Nikki Hinsley smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to end the game via the 10-run rule and snap the Raiders' seven-game losing streak. Megan Hubbard struck out five for the win. Hinsley also added a single, Kim Treen had a double and single and Julie Treen had two singles.
Girls Track (5-1) defeated Absegami, 91-31
Melissa Hunter won the 100 & 200 meters as OC won every event on the track but one.
Boys Track (4-3) lost to Absegami, 73-58
John Richardson won both the 800 & 1600 meters and anchored the 4x400 meter relay team to victory. But Gami won every field event, except for Tom Tyrrell's win in the pole vault.

Monday, May 5th
Golf (12-4) defeated Absegami, 165-173
Jake Hansen had a 38 and Trevor Hamlin a 41 at Greate Bay.
Lacrosse (1-9) defeated Middle Township, 18-5
Raiders ended their 11-game losing streak over two seasons. Maggie Long scored three times with Caitlyn Dougherty, Mary Chirichella and Gwen Hunter each scoring twice.
Boys Tennis (5-7) vs Absegami - postponed

Saturday, May 3rd
Girls Track (4-1) at Ike Willis Open (Rowan)
Brittany Sedberry, Allie Moreland, Renee Tomlin and Molly Minehan won the distance medley in 12:31.6, fast enough to qualify for the nationals in North Carolina.
Lacrosse (0-9) lost to Millville, 14-6
Maggie Long and Liz McCabe each scored twice.
Softball (1-7) in County Tournament - cancelled

Friday, May 2nd
Baseball (5-6) defeated Oakcrest, 14-2
Will Kleva did the job with his bat and his arm, leading the Raiders to their 3rd straight win. He had a single, double and triple and also pitched five innings for the win, his second of the season. Dan McLaughlin hit a three-run homer for OC.
Golf (11-4) defeated Wildwood Catholic, 157-166
Billy Gray and Steven Freda each shot 37 at Greate Bay with Jake Hansen carding a 38.
Boys Track (4-2) at South Jersey Relays (West Deptford)
Erik Geisinger finished 5th in the 3200 meters.
Boys Tennis (5-7) at CAL Individual Tournament
Erick Chalfin won in the first round but was eliminated in the second.
Lacrosse (0-8) lost to Cherry Hill West, 18-4
Maggie Long scored twice.
Softball (1-7) lost to Oakcrest, 2-1
The Raiders were limited to two singles.

Thursday, May 1st
Golf (10-4) defeated Millville, 156-181
J.P. Laird shot par (36) at Cohanzick with Billy Gray and Jason Heckler each getting 40. The win qualified the Raiders for the NJSIAA Tournament.
Boys Track (4-2) defeated Atlantic City, 81-50
John Richardson won the 800 & 1600 meters and anchored the win in the 4x400 relay.
Girls Track (4-1) defeated Atlantic City, 82-39
Brittany Sedberry won the 1600 & 3200 meters and Kelly Heckler swept the two hurdles.
Golf (9-4) finished 16th in Carl Arena Tournament
Billy Gray's 84 was best by a Raider at Valleybrook.
Softball (1-6) at Lower Cape May - postponed

Wednesday, April 30th
Baseball (4-6) defeated Cumberland, 6-2
Mike Baker had a triple and single, driving home two runs. Andrew Bednarek was the winning pitcher.
Golf (9-4) defeated Millville, 167-196
J.P. Laird shot a 41 for the Raiders in the home win at Greate Bay.
Boys Tennis (5-7) defeated Millville, 5-0
Erick Chalfin was a 6-4,6-4 winner at No. 1 singles as OC ended a three-match losing streak.
Lacrosse (0-7) lost to Lower Cape May, 12-10
Maggie Long scored three times.

Tuesday, April 29th
Baseball (3-6) defeated Lower Cape May, 11-1
Wes Yakopcic hit two home runs and a double, driving home six runs. Dan McLaughlin also homered for OC and Andrew Bednarek had a triple. Kevin Kilroy was the winning pitcher.
Boys Track (3-2) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 69-62
Erik Geisinger, Blake Boffa, Jason Welch and John Richardson won the 4x400 meter relay to clinch the victory after each set the stage with individual wins. Welch won three events - the 100, 200 and long jump - and Richardson took the 800 and 1600. In addition, Boffa took the 400 and Geisinger the 3200.
Girls Track (3-1) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 74-48
Freshman Brittany Sedberry won both the 1600 & 3200 meters and freshman Melissa Hunter swept the 100 and 200. Allie Moreland (800) and Leslie Robinson (discus) also won for OC.
Golf (8-4) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 160-164
J.P. Laird shot a 39 for the Raiders at Green Tree but it wasn't enough.
Softball (1-6) lost to Kingsway, 7-5
Nikki Hinsley had a triple and Kim Treen a single, both driving home two runs.
Boys Tennis (4-7) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 4-1
Kelly Miller rallied to win the No. 3 singles match, OC's only victory. Three of the four sets the Raiders lost went the full three sets.

Monday, April 28th
Golf (8-3) defeated Lower Cape May, 167-179
J.P. Laird led the Raiders with a 40 at Cape May National.
Baseball (2-6) lost to Mainland, 5-0
Mike Baker was the losing pitcher but he only allowed two runs in six innings and struck out seven. Tim John pitched the four-hit shutout for Mainland.
Lacrosse (0-6) lost to Shawnee, 20-3
Maggie Long scored all three goals.
Softball (1-5) lost to Mainland, 10-0
Dana Hoagland pitched a one-hitter for the Mustangs.
Boys Tennis (4-6) lost to Lower Cape May, 4-1
The loss knocked OC out of the Group 3 Tournament picture. Dan Murphy and Chris Mullan got the only win at second doubles.

Friday, April 25th
Boys Track (2-2) at Penn Relays
John Richardson won the High School Mile at the Penn Relays, the most significant win by an OCHS track athlete in at least 60 years.
Baseball (2-5) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 13-6
Brian Tyszka hit a home run and Dan McLaughlin & Kevin Kilroy doubled for the Raiders' 2nd straight win. OC scored seven times in the second inning. Andrew Bednarek was the winning pitcher.
Softball (1-4) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 5-2
Kim Treen and Katie Timmons each had two singles for OC, which lost the game in the 8th inning.
Boys Tennis (4-5) lost to Vineland, 4-1
Matt Piechoski & Jim Dugan got the win at first doubles.

Thursday, April 24th
Golf (7-3) defeated Absegami, 179-188
Jake Hansen shot a 43 for the Raiders at Seaview.
Boys Tennis (4-4) defeated Middle Township, 5-0
Vic Nappen moved up to No. 2 singles and won in straight sets.

Saturday, April 19th
Boys Track (2-2) 3rd Place in Woodbury Relays
Jim Dugan, Brian McMahon, Erik Geisinger and John Richardson won the 4x800 relay. And Dugan, Richardson, Jason Welch and Blake Boffa won the sprint medley relay.
Girls Track (2-1) 3rd Place in Woodbury Relays
Brittany Sedberry, Allie Moreland, Caitlin Greene and Brittany Downham took 3rd place in the 4x800 relay. And Greene, Kelly Heckler, Brenda Briney and Alex Marcus were 3rd in the sprint medley.

Thursday, April 17th
Baseball (1-5) defeated Buena, 9-8
Dan McLaughlin smacked a home run and Wes Yakopcic a double to help the Raiders gain a 9-5 lead. Will Kleva was the winning pitcher.
Boys Track (2-2) at Woodbury Relays
The distance medley relay team of Erik Geisinger, Blake Boffa, Jim Dugan and John Richardson finished first by nearly 40 seconds.
Girls Track (2-1) at Woodbury Relays
The distance medley relay team of Brittany Sedberry, Renee Tomlin, Brenda Briney and Allie Moreland finished second, two seconds behind Woodrow Wilson.
Golf (6-3) at Millville (Cohanzick) - postponed

Wednesday, April 16th
Boys Track (2-2) defeated Lower Cape May, 74-57
Jim Dugan swept the hurdles and was part of the winning 4x400 meter relay team.
Girls Track (2-1) defeated Lower Cape May, 84-38
Kelly Heckler swept the hurdles and Leslie Robinson won both the shot put and discus.
Baseball (0-5) lost to Hammonton, 5-2
Tim Dennison smacked a double for OC, which never led in the game.
Golf (6-3) lost to Mainland, 158-180
Jake Hanson's 41 was the low score for the Raiders at Greate Bay.
Lacrosse (0-5) lost to Camden Catholic, 13-7
Maggie Long scored four times.
Softball (1-3) lost to Hammonton, 4-2
Natalie Whilder had two hits and Katie Timmons doubled but OC's two-run rally in the seventh was cut short.
Boys Tennis (3-4) lost to Mainland, 5-0
The second doubles team of Kelly Miller & Dan Murphy were the lone Raiders to win a set.

Tuesday, April 15th
Golf (6-2) defeated Vineland, 164-182
Derek DiDonato and Steve Freda each shot the low of 40 at Buena Vista.
Boys Tennis (3-3) lost to Wildwood Catholic, 3-2
The doubles teams, Matt Peichoski-Jim Dugan & Kelly Miller-Dan Murphy, supplied the wins.

Monday, April 14th
Golf (5-2) defeated Hammonton, 170-190

Nikki Hinsley had two doubles and Julie Treen added two singles as the Raiders opened with a win for the first time since 1999.

Dan McLaughlin had three hits and Mike Baker two hits for the Raiders, who took a 7-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh.
