2008 Fall CAL All Stars

Saturday, November 29th
Foot Locker Cross Country Northeast Regional (Bronx)
Brett Johnson battled illness and a foot injury to finish 8th and qualify for the Foot Locker National High School Cross Country Championship Race in San Diego. Johnson joins Ocean City graduate Brittany Sedberry as the only two CAL runners to qualify for the national race.
Thursday, November 27th
Football (6-4) defeated Pleasantville, 28-6
Matt Lombardi threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another as the Raiders completed their first winning season since 2001.
Saturday, November 22nd
Boys CC (8-1) at NJSIAA Meet of Champions (Holmdel)
Brett Johnson finished 4th in this race featuring the top runners from all NJSIAA groups.
Sunday, November 16th
Boys CC (8-1) finished 7th at State Group 3 Meet (Holmdel)
Defending state champion Brett Johnson finished 2nd and collapsed after the race. Mike Hagan was 34th and Erik Johnson 39th.
Saturday, November 15th
Boys CC (8-1) at State Group 3 Meet - postponed until 11/16
Friday, November 14th
NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 Soccer Final:
Boys Soccer (17-2-3) lost to Moorestown, 2-1
Giancarlo Granese scored for the Raiders in their 6th straight South Jersey final & 10th in the last 11 years. It was the final game in Mike Pellegrino's 12-year coaching career.
NJSIAA Group 3 Football Playoffs:
Football (5-4) lost to Lacey Township, 6-0 OT
A halfback pass produced the only score after the two teams had played four scoreless quarters. Derrick Jones caught two passes for 51 yards to give OC its best scoring opportunity.
Thursday, November 13th
NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 Soccer Final:
Boys Soccer (17-1-3) vs Moorestown - postponed until 11/14
Game was stopped with less than 5 minutes to play because the field was unplayable. The score was tied, 1-1. Giancarlo Granese scored for OCHS. The game will be re-played on Nov. 14.
Wednesday, November 12th
NJSIAA Group 3 State Field Hockey Semi-Final:
Field Hockey (21-1-1) lost to Wall, 2-1 OT (Eastern)
Colleen Slaughter scored the only OCHS goal, her 25th of the season.
Monday, November 10th
NJSIAA Group 3 Soccer Tournament:
Boys Soccer (17-1-3) defeated Seneca, 3-0
Andrew D'Ottavi registered his 17th shutout, a new OCHS single-season record. Cody Letsinger scored in the first half and Kevin Curran added a pair of second half goals. All three were assisted by Giancarlo Granese.
Sunday, November 9th
NJSIAA Group 3 South Jersey Field Hockey Final:
Field Hockey (21-0-1) defeated Kingsway, 1-0
Lauren Price scored the only goal with an assist from Danielle McNally, Natalie Hunter fashioned her 15th shutout and the Raiders earned their eighth South Jersey championship in 12 years.
Saturday, November 8th
Boys CC (8-1) finished 1st at SJ Group 3 Meet (Delsea)
Brett Johnson won by 20 seconds, joining John Richardson as the only two OCHS boys to win two SJ titles. Miles Schoedler was 6th, Mike Hagan 11th, Erik Johnson 15th and Mike Gavin 23rd. It was the second consecutive team title for the Raiders and third in five years.
Girls CC (6-2) finished 10th SJ Group 3 Meet (Delsea)
Anna Ceniccola finished 16th to lead the Raiders.
NJSIAA Group 3 South Jersey Field Hockey Final:
Field Hockey (20-0-1) vs Kingsway - postponed until 11/9
Friday, November 7th
Football (5-3) defeated Atlantic City, 28-7
Matt Lombardi threw a pair of second quarter TD passes and Greg Hoyle scored with a spectacular interception. The win helped the Raiders earn the No. 3 seed in the NJSIAA Group 3 playoffs and a first round home game.
NJSIAA Group 3 Field Hockey Tournament:
Field Hockey (20-0-1) defeated Seneca, 2-1
Colleen Slaughter and Lauren Price scored to open a 2-0 lead.
NJSIAA Group 3 Soccer Tournament:
Boys Soccer (16-1-3) defeated Timber Creek, 5-0
Giancarlo Granese and Brandon Klein each scored twice.
Girls Soccer (12-5-2) tied Seneca, 1-1 2OT (Lost Shootout)
Jill Baltz scored for Ocean City.
Thursday, November 6th
NJSIAA Group 3 Field Hockey Tournament:
Field Hockey (19-0-1) vs Seneca - postponed until 11/7
NJSIAA Group 3 Soccer Tournament:
Boys Soccer (15-1-3) vs Timber Creek - postponed until 11/7
Girls Soccer (12-5-1) vs Seneca - postponed until 11/7
Tuesday, November 4th
NJSIAA Group 3 Soccer Tournament:
Girls Soccer (12-5-1) defeated Central, 2-1 OT
Liz Ker scored with a penalty kick in overtime. Morgan Bogushefsky netted the other OC goal.
Monday, November 3rd
NJSIAA Group 3 Field Hockey Tournament:
Field Hockey (19-0-1) defeated Clearview, 4-0
Colleen Slaughter and Alex Barbieri each scored twice.
Saturday, November 1st
Girls Soccer (11-5-1) lost to Deptford, 2-1
Liz Ker scored to give OCHS a 1-0 lead but Deptford scored twice in the 2nd half.
